(KTVI)– Pevely police confiscated more than ten pounds of marijuana while investigating an alleged kidnapping.

Police Chief Ron Weeks says two women approached an officer outside a Pevely gas station and told him they were being held against their will at a Pevely business.

The officer found the man outside the gas station and got permission to search the nearby business.

While inside the business, investigators found about ten to 12 pounds of marijuana.

Weeks says they found no evidence of the kidnapping but he says they are still investigating.

The man has not yet been charged.
