UNIVERSITY CITY, MO (KTVI) – The fate of six suspended University City firefighters is still in the hands of the city council. They were put on leave after allegedly violating a state statute forbidding first responders from being involved with political campaigns while in uniform.

The University City council voted tonight 4-3 in favor of postponing the vote indefinitely, reinstating the firefighters and the possibility of terminating their suspensions.

Therefore, the 6 firefighters will have to serve their full 3 month suspensions without pay.
