ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Two women were found shot to death in a north St. Louis duplex apartment early Thursday morning.

The shooting happened overnight in the 4000 block of Natural Bridge near Fairground Park.

The women, 25-year-old Korie Hodges and 22-year-old Keerica Bolden, were found shot to death in a bedroom by Hodges’ father. He found the apartment open and then located the women dead at around 6:45 a.m.  He was there to drop off a child.

Hodges had been shot multiple times in the head and torso. Bolden had gunshot wounds in the chest, back, and head.

Two children, ages five and two, were also found in the duplex. It’s believed the children had come to the apartment with Bolden. The children are physically okay.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry or a struggle, suggesting at least one of the victims may have known the killer.

“This is very difficult to work when you see two women killed,” said St. Louis police Lt. John Green. “We are going to work hard to try to solve the case.”

Thus far, police have no suspects in custody and have not revealed a possible motive.

Neighbors did not seem to know much about the women, but found the case horrifying.

“I just think it’s tragic,” said neighbor Aaron Davis. “I’ve got three kids and it is a real scary situation.”

There was also another shooting in the area  on St. Louis Avenue near Vandeventer and on Labadie.  Police have not said if the shootings were connected.
