ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Floodwater is still on the rise in Texas where 12 people are confirmed missing including a mother and her two children, who were swept away Saturday in a cabin.

A total of at least 31 people are dead so far in Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. The city of Houston is not recognizable. More than four-thousand homes and properties are damaged. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott declared disasters in 37 counties and adds, it’s the worst flooding ever seen. A tidal wave of water just swept away neighborhoods.

Cindy Erickson, the CEO of the American Red Cross of Eastern Missouri, joins us this morning to share how local efforts are being made to help these flooded cities.
