ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Three St. Louis residents are locked up accused of aiding ISIS fighters in the Middle East.

One of the men they were allegedly helping, a man accused of fighting for the Islamic State used to live here in St. Louis.

The Department of Justice indicted Abdullah Ramo Pazara, who is alleged to have traveled from St. Louis to Zagreb Croatia in May 2013 and then made his way to Syria to fight with terrorist aligned with ISIS. The indictment further stated that St. Louis County residents Ramiz Zijad Hodzic, 40, his wife Sedina Unkic Hodzic, 35, and Armin Harcevic, 37 were charged with conspiring to provide material support and resources to terrorists.

The Islamic Foundation of Greater St. Louis condemns the involvement of any individuals associated with terrorism or violence.  We are saddened to hear the accused were from the local St. Louis community.  The actions of any terrorist organizations or its supporters do not represent the tenants of Islam or the values of our local Muslim community.  The Muslim community in St. Louis embodies the hardworking and law-abiding values that are the core tenants of this country.

We stand by our law enforcement agencies to eradicate terrorist activities locally and nationally.  The Muslim community of Greater St. Louis has and will continue to help in these efforts.  We urge the community at large will dispel the notion that actions of few represent the whole Muslim community.
