ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – St. Louis accident reconstruction has been called to the city’s north side at Kingshigway and Highland for a fatal accident.
Police say two ATV’s were racings each other when one of the ATV’s struck a police vehicle around 7:40 pm Saturday night. The accident occurred as police officers in the area had received a call and were responding when Chevy Tahoe they were in was struck by one of the ATV’s at Highland.
Witnesses at the scene say the ATV’s were traveling at a high rate of speed, when the accident occurred.
The person driving the ATV that struck a police vehicle was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The two officers in the Tahoe received minor injuries, but were transported to the hospital for observation.
An investigation is ongoing.
