ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – St. Louis baseball fans are celebrating another trip to the post-season.  They are also celebrating a season ending victory against the Chicago Cubs.  The victory sealed home-field advantage through the National League Championship Series.

“The way they’re playing, they will be hard to beat,” predicted Sandy Young, Cardinals fan.

Marueen Gagnepain was among the fans at Sunday’s final game of the regular season.

She celebrated her 103rd birthday in August.

“I guess you could say I’ve been a fan forever,” said Gagnepain.

Some fans praised the Cardinals organization for having so many young players ready to step in this year.

“Without the young pitchers, we wouldn’t have made the playoffs,” predicted one fan.

As of Sunday night, some tickets for games 1,2 and 5 of the National League Division Series remained.  The Cardinals are also selling tickets for the National League Championships Series.

Game 1 of the N.L.D.S. will be held at Busch Stadium on Thursday, October 3rd.  Game 2 will be at Busch Stadium on Friday, October 4.  If there is a game 5, it will be held at Busch Stadium on Wednesday, October 9th.
