ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –   A man featured on FOX 2 News for being released from prison because of a clerical error is  now back in jail.

Police arrested Cornealious “Mike” Anderson Sunday for stealing a woman’s purse in the 800 block of south Broadway. Anderson is accused of grabbing the woman’s purse, dragging her and then trying to rip the bag from  her shoulder.

Anderson was convicted of armed robbery 14 years ago, but he never reported to prison.  He got a job and started a business. He said he turned his life around. The state realized he wasn’t already in prison when they went to consider his parole. That’s when they realized the mistake.

Anderson was arrested and sent to prison last year but released after his case got national attention. Anderson’s attorney argues police arrested the wrong person this weekend.
